Tomorrow, well technically today, is Thanksgiving Eve so I would like to take a moment to let everyone know what I am thankful for.
Cowboys Orlando is hosting a special event. Ladies Night is moving to Wednesday for one night only! Ladies obviously get free admission but we also drink FREE until 11PM. I am certainly thankful for that. Don't worry guys; This holiday is about giving so Cowboys also has $1 Bud Lights from 9PM until 12AM for y'all!
Boots 'N' Buckles is also having ladies night, but this one is on Thanksgiving. 9PM to 12AM; Ladies drink free and there is no cover charge!

Four pool tables! |
This is where the bull will be! |
Alligator Alley was actually bigger inside than I originally anticipated and it had two levels. What I found the most interesting about this bar was their... well, bars! The entire building was lined with a huge wrap around bar, upstairs and down. On the bottom level, half was a huge dance floor while the other half was equipped with four pool tables, four electronic dart boards, a few arcade games (Buck hunting) and the area where the mechanical bull will eventually be located. Upstairs was pretty empty at this point but it was mostly an over look of the stage and dance floor. It is a really original idea and it came together nicely. Another pretty unique thing they had was a fan the size of 3 semi-trucks keeping everyone cool.
As for the alcohol, Alligator Alley had some pretty inexpensive but well made drinks. I spent the night suckin' down a drink called Southern Bell. It's just Southern Comfort, Root beer and ice and one of my personal favorites. I did hear some folks talking about how they have Jack Daniels drinks for $3 every day. The only thing Alligator Alley is really missing is some sort of back porch so the non-smokers can enjoy some fresh air occasionally.

The concert line up for the 2011 Florida Strawberry festival has finally been released. I'm not sure if everything is final yet but it's a start! Line up includes big time country names like Chris Young, Easton Corbin, Lady Antebellum, Clint Black and Kenny Rogers. The festival is running from March 3rd to March 13th and you can see the full line-up by clicking on my concert page. Tickets go on Sale December 6th, 2010. The prices haven't been released yet but I'm guessing that they'll be around $15 to $20 like they are every year... You can go to the Florida Strawberry Festival website to get tickets. Urgh, so far away.....

A photo taken a few months ago when they finally threw us a bone. |
In all honestly, I have no idea what the big secret is about this place. We have all seen the gigantic green and yellow castle on the side of highway 192, in place of the old Skull Kingdom building. AACountryBar.com has been down for months with no new information either. They put a huge sign on the "Country Castle" a few months ago claiming to be Alligator Alley, telling us they're hiring and continued to be very vague on the actual opening date. What. is. Going. on.

This is the most recent photo of AA, anywhere on the web. |
WELLLL They're finally open! Have I been there? Hell no. My crystal ball wasn't working that day to know that they're open and to plan accordingly. Thank God for my redneck neighbors who came stumbling across our property line and into our bonfire Friday night proclaiming breathlessly "AA is open! AA is open!". Anywho, Colt Ford and Sunny Ledford have been informing folks for weeks that they will be performing there on Wednesday, November 17th. I WILL be there this time. Show starts at 9:30PM and tickets are about $15 to $20.

Today is "Free Beer Saturday" at Cowboys Orlando. You can enjoy free longnecks from 10pm until 1am! In my opinion, Cowboys Orlando is one of the best country bars around. It is also one of the few bars that has more "pros" than "cons" and I am very critical! Although the location probably isn't the best, it makes up for that in many other aspects. It is located uncomfortably close to the Ghetto part of Orlando, and it's surrounded by nasty strip clubs, shady pawn shops and all sorts of sketchy business.
Cowboys Orlando has 8 acres of land to park on, equipped with lots of lighting and friendly staff to help ya out. Did I mention that part's free? Inside is just as impressive as the outside. The cover charge varies daily depending on your sex but mostly runs you about $10 - $12 bucks to get in the door. The club itself is approximately 15,000 square feet but it also has a 5,000 square foot back porch attached to enjoy. Cowboys is home to not one... not two... not even three... but EIGHT full liquor bars, all of which have very friendly and efficient staff waiting to get your drink, (or crack open your free beer) for you. They have roughly 8 to 10 pool tables scattered through out the club which is also fun and they frequently host free concerts!
I've been to Cowboys a number of times and overall I'm very impressed. If you happen to visit on a day that doesn't include free beer, I would suggest trying their swamp water! Swamp water is just Absolut Citron, Apricot Brandy, Sweet and Sour mix and lemon lime soda... and they make it mean down at Cowboys!
Today is also the rumored grand-opening of Alligator Alley Country Castle in Kissimmee, Fl.Rating : ★★★★★
I'll be around soon to check it out. (:

Friday night is “All You Can Drink” at Lakeland’s Boots ‘N’ Buckles Saloon from 8pm to 11pm! Unfortunately, today I was the worlds biggest procrastinator. (You know that you are “motivationally challenged” when you can’t even muster up the energy to go out and drink on a Friday night!) I moseyed on out of the house around 8:30 pm… and did I mention that Lakeland is approximately an hour away from my house?
Although I haven’t actually experienced Boots ‘N’ Buckles Saloon yet, I have to admit that the place looked more like “Boots ‘N’ Boring”. It didn’t look like too much was goin on but we were informed that Saturday is the night to go anyway. It’s pretty hard to find it in the first place because it’s located in a shopping plaza and it has a tiny cursive sign in the front that is NOT drunk friendly. Naturally we accidentally passed the place right up. Fortunately for us, in our efforts to turn around we spotted a parking lot that looked promising. Why did it look promising, you ask? Three reasons. Hundreds of jacked up trucks, stadium lights and caution tape.
